While summers are hot, things start cooling off in October, and we enjoy simply fantastic weather during “Season,” which runs from approximately January to March.
Healthcare
The two main healthcare systems in town are NCH and Physicians Regional, each of which has two hospitals. NCH has 681 beds total, while Physician’s Regional has 201.
Collier Health Services (CHS) is a private, not-for-profit health care provider with 12 health care facilities located throughout Naples and Collier County. CHS provides basic primary and preventative medical and dental health care services.
Recreation
If golf is your game, you’re in luck. Naples has more golf courses per capita than any area in the world.
If you prefer to get your sand and sun on the shore, Naples’ beaches run for more than 10 miles along the Gulf of Mexico, and were voted the best beach in America by the Travel Channel in 2005.
If you enjoy connecting to nature, try the Naples Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, or the many nearby parks, including Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, Everglades National Park, Big Cypress National Preserve, Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge, Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge, and Picayune Strand State Forest.
For shopping, people-watching, and eating out, try Fifth Avenue South, Third Street South, or outdoor malls like Venetian Village or Mercato. The Mercato is particularly known for its nightlife.
If you’re craving culture, there’s Opera Naples, Artis, Naples Players, and the Gulfshore Playhouse to get you started.
